In 2003 I presented a show at the Arts Society of Kingston featuring people in gallery spaces.   This page displays many of those photographs and some more recent ones.  I have long enjoyed taking candid photographs and going to galleries and museums, so the match seemed a natural one.

People interact (or don't) interact with artwork not only in  emotional, aesthetic , and intellectual ways, but also in an spatial way which is enhanced by the gallery space.    I have portrayed this relationship in this Venn diagram.

 

Because of poor record keeping ,I am not able to credit many artists for the portrayal of their work in my photographs.  I apologize to them, and if any uncredited works are recognized, please contact me so I can correct these omissions.  Thank you.
